Beauty is in the eye of the beholder - we each have different tastes so when you see an image, it may convey something entirely different from what was intended. That's okay! I will describe what I see and you can read whatever you want into your own interpretation.

I like to paint my images firstly, then I digitalise them using various techniques.

Abstract Gallery 3

Sometimes I take photographs of interesting places paint them and then digitalise them and in a few cases I play around with the images and create something very different.

ABSTRACT - Columbus in Rabaul, Papua New Guinea

This image is of Columbus, my home at sea for 120 days on a World Cruise in 2019. Never in my wildest dreams did I ever imagine visiting some of the most remote villages on our planet. I count myself lucky to have been able to visit such places and hope to do so again for inspiration! Then Covid 19 struck, the company who owned Columbus went into receivership and the ship was scuttled.

The original painting below, remains in my possession but I am particularly pleased with a print  on Hahnemuhle German Etching, framed in 34mm White Lacquer with acrylic glazing by Point 101. It is 460 x 343 mm.  Prints of both the original and digital versions are available.

I hope you enjoy this collaboration with Steve Macbeath of Keith Community Radio, who puts the paintings I send him to music.
